This figure shows notifications and rate for pertussis in Australia from 1993 to 2013.  This figure demonstrates that whilst pertussis remains endemic in Australia with a cyclical pattern of epidemic activity occurring approximately every three to four years, the epidemic from 2008 to 2012 has been much larger and more prolonged than earlier outbreaks.
