This figure demostrates that Queensland has the largest number of notifications, but in late 2010 and early 2011, there was an outbreak particularly affecting Victoria. In October 2012, notifications began to increase, marking the starting of an outbreak of likely false positive notifications that continued into late 2013. Seasonality of BFV is less marked than for RRV, and this is thought partly to be due to false positive diagnoses.
