This figure shows the 2013 notification rates (per 100,000) for newly acquired hepatitis B by age group and sex. The notification rates were highest for men in the 25-44 year age groups, peaking at 2.5 per 100,000 in the 40-44 year age group. Rates for females were much lower in almost all age groups. The highest notification rate for females was in the 35-39 year and 45-49 year age groups (1.2 and 0.9 per 100,000 respectively).
