Column graph demonstrates the percentage of S. aureus characterised as either HA-MRSA or CA-MRSA strains reported in the 2012 AGAR programme by region (Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia). Throughout Australia the percentage of S. aureus characterised as HA-MRSA or CA-MRSA was 5.1% and 12.5% respectively. There were regional variations in the proportion of S.aureus characterised as HA-MRSA or CA-MRSA.
