This figure shows the age and sex distribution of laboratory confirmed influenza in 2013. The number of notifications were highest in the youngest age groups (0-9 years), particularly for males, followed by a secondary peak in the middle age groups (females 30-39 years and males 35-44 years). Females contributed to just over half of all influenza notifications.
