This figure shows the age and sex distribution of laboratory confirmed influenza in 2014. The number of notifications were highest in the youngest age groups (0?9 years), particularly for males, followed by a secondary peak in the middle age groups (females 40–44 years and males 30?34 years). Notification rates were highest in the 0–4 years and over 85 years age groups. Females contributed to just over half of all influenza notifications.
