Private Hospital Data Bureau (PHDB) Annual Report 2008-09 and request for facilities and funds to have generic email address for HCP and PHDB correspondence

PHDB Annual Report

The PHDB 2008-09 Annual Report has been released on the Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA) website. The PHDB Annual Report is available in both PDF and Excel format (for benchmarking purposes). The PHDB Annual Report includes health statistics received from private hospitals detailing information relating to patient statistics.

Tables included are Care Type, Completeness, Charge Components, Patient Age Groups and Charge Weights for both private hospitals and day facilities.

The report can be found at the PHDB page on the Department's website.

Hospital Casemix Protocol (HCP) Annual Report

The HCP 2008-09 Annual Report has been released on the Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA) website. The HCP Annual Report is available in both PDF and Excel format (for benchmarking purposes). The HCP Annual Report includes health statistics received from private health insurers detailing information relating to patient statistics.

Tables included are Care Type, Completeness, Charge Components, Patient Age Groups and Charge Weights for private hospitals, public hospitals and day facilities.

Request to have Facilities to have Generic Email Address for HCP and PHCD Correspondence

The Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA) has recently implemented automated email responses (including validation reports) for HCP and PHDB submissions. It has been identified that DoHA is missing some email addresses or existing addresses are out of date. In many cases staff have left the facility. So that contact details can be updated, DoHA is requesting facilities to do the following:
1. Forward the email address for the current data contact to DoHA’s generic address: hcp inbox
2. Alternatively, consider creating a generic email account when next adding email addresses or allocating an email address. Examples of a generic email address could include hcp, data or admin.
