Administrative Arrangements for the Second Tier Default Benefits for Overnight and Day Only Treatment

Some changes have been made to the version of the Administrative Arrangements for the Second Tier Default Benefits for Overnight and Day Only Treatment, which was attached to PHI Circular 41/08. These changes reflect:
  1. An updated address to forward Second Tier applications for consideration by the Second Tier Advisory Committee (STAC) - change of Mail Drop Point (MDP) 86 to MDP 401.Refer Page 2, Part 2 - Applications, Clause 2.3 and Page 5, Part 3 - The Role of the Committee, Clause 3.9.
  2. That the Adverse Drug Reactions Advisory Committee (ADRAC) has been abolished, with activities now to be undertaken by the Office of Medicines Safety Monitoring (OMSM), within the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). Refer Page 8, Part 6 - Quality Criteria Referred to in Part 5, Clause 6.3 (f).

These changes have been ratified by the STAC.

Please note that the attached document replaces all previous versions of the Administrative Arrangements for the Second Tier Default Benefits for Overnight and Day Only Treatment.

Information which must be included in applications for Second Tier default eligibility has not changed and is outlined in the Second Tier Default Benefit – Sample Application Guide 2010 located on the Australian Private Hospitals Association website at: http://www.apha.org.au. Select ‘Advocacy’; ‘Resources’; ‘Second Tier Default Benefits - Sample Application Guide 2010’.
