Description of clinic

The clinic opened on 30 January 2012.

Springwood (hub): 16 Ferguson Road, Springwood a new two storey facility with good access to public transport (trains and buses) and is easily accessible by road. Top of page

Blackheath (spoke)

Blackheath Family Medical Centre: 108 Wentworth Street, Blackheath.The practice relocated to the new multi storey building (from 110 Wentworth street). Good access to public transport (trains and buses) and easily accessible by road.

Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre (BANC): 110 Wentworth Street, Blackheath. Provides community access and disability services.

Katoomba Medical Practice (GP spoke): 143 Katoomba Street, Katoomba. Refurbishment of the existing Katoomba Medical Practice which is located on the main street in the commercial hub. Good access to public transport (trains and buses). IT linkage to hub yet to occur.

Parke Street Specialist Centre, Katoomba: 61 Parke Street, Katoomba. IT upgrade only of existing practice.

Billing arrangements

Bulk billing of all GP consultations is available for all children under 16 years, health care card holders, seniors, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the financially disadvantaged. Top of page

Home visits and visits to residential aged care facilities

Home visits are provided on an as needed basis for elderly patients along with consultations for regular patients who are in residential aged care facilities in Springwood, Leura, Katoomba and Wentworth Falls.

Clinical training arrangements

Student placements will be provided for medical, nursing, dental and allied health students, as well as GP registrars. The Springwood hub will support the majority of the training and education arrangements.
