  1. The community has the right to:
    1. be informed and educated about mental health issues
    2. participate in community programs that address mental health and wellbeing
    3. have the amenity and safety of their neighbourhood protected.

  2. The community has the responsibility to:
    1. treat mental health consumers, carers and support persons with dignity and respect
    2. accept programs for the assessment, support, care, treatment, recovery, rehabilitation, employment and accommodation of mental health consumers into their local area and communities.
