From 1 March 2025, changes to participating midwifery MBS items aim to improve access to flexible, high quality and tailored maternity care and promote improved patient outcomes.
Changes include the introduction of a new long attendance MBS item of at least 90 minutes for both antenatal and postnatal and a new complex antenatal attendance item leading to hospital admission.
