On 1 March 2023, the Australian Government is making changes to modernise Medicare-funded thoracic surgery services to ensure they reflect contemporary clinical practice. The changes are a result of the MBS Review Taskforce recommendations for thoracic surgery services following extensive consultation with stakeholders.
